Here Are The Remaining Off-White x Nike Sneakers Rumoured For 2018

Last year’s “The Ten” collection by Nike and Virgil Abloh’s Off-White were probably the most talked about sneaker collaboration of 2017. Nearly every sneaker convention in the world towards the later part of the year had sneakerheads flexing their favourite pairs from the collection.

That momentum doesn’t seem to be wavering any time soon, particularly after a very strong showing of demand for the recently released Off-White x Nike VaporMax in black last March.

According to several insiders, including the fast-growing @py_rates, Nike and Off-White are nowhere close to being done with their ongoing partnership. In fact, if the rumours are to be believed, there are enough sneaker releases to last the whole year.

Here are some of the rumoured sneakers slated for a release in 2018 from Nike and Off-White.

1) Off-White x Nike Air Force 1 ’07 in White

Originally part of the “AF100” pack to celebrate the 35th anniversary of the Air Force 1 silhouette, the Off-White x Nike Air Force 1 ’07 was a ComplexCon exclusive release. However, in early March, official product images were uploaded onto Nike.com, suggesting that a wider release may be in the cards. There isn’t a rumoured release date as of yet, so stay tuned for more details on this one.

2) Off-White x Nike Air VaporMax Flyknit

[caption id="attachment_12736" align="alignnone" width="1000"] Image: Stadium Goods[/caption]

Right off the bat from the March 30th release of the Off-White x Nike Air VaporMax in black, it appears that there may be a follow-up in white dropping this April. U.K. retailer END. Clothing posted a teaser for the pair on its blog, stating that “a white-out counterpart to Virgil’s black re-issue is now confirmed”. Early pairs of the shoe also showed up at Stadium Goods back in February. While END. stopped short of stating a release date (only stating it was “coming soon”), @py_rates has revealed a potential April 14 drop.

3) Off-White x Nike Air Jordan 1 “UNC”

Rumours of an Off-White Air Jordan 1 in UNC colours have been around for a number of months but there still isn’t concrete information directly from the sources. However, reports do point towards a potential May 2018 release date. It’s unclear however as to whether the pair will be exclusive to a particular region as the previous Off-White x Air Jordan 1 in white was exclusive to Europe.

4) Off-White x Nike Blazer Studio Mid “Canvas”

According to @py_rates, there are a total of three Blazer Studio Mid colourways set to drop from Nike and Off-White this year. Kicking off the Blazer party is a light-coloured edition in Canvas and Pale Vanilla. The pair is expected to drop in July.

5) Off-White x Nike Blazer Studio Mid “Black”

The second of the three Blazer drops comes in the form of Black, contrasting both the rumoured Canvas pair as well as last year’s white version. The mock-up by @py_rates illustrates the pair with a predominantly black outlook, white Swoosh with orange tab and Nike branding tab on the tongue in white with red lettering. Rumoured to drop in September.

6) Off-White x Nike Air Max 90 in black

October 2018 is set to be a busy month for Off-White and Nike as they prepare to launch a series of shoes  during the month. The first of the lot is rumoured to be a new Air Max 90, this time in black, as illustrated by @py_rates above. The pair is a follow-up to the white/grey edition that released last year.

7) Off-White x Nike Air Force 1 Low

Sharing a similar aesthetic to the MoMA-exclusive pair, there appears to be a new Off-White x Nike Air Force 1 Low in black on the horizon. Based on the mock-ups however, it appears that this October’s edition will take on different materials from the traditional leather version from MoMA.

8) Off-White x Nike Zoom Fly

https://www.instagram.com/p/BhH7C7YFsNx

Following last year’s white version of the Zoom Fly, this year’s “The Ten” collection will include a Zoom Fly in black. The overall visual looks pretty similar to last year’s pair with the exception of the colour of its uppers. This one’s also expected to arrive in October 2018.

9) Off-White x Nike Air Max 97

https://www.instagram.com/p/BgTsIyyAqEt

Rumour has it that the Swoosh and Off-White are planning to release not one, but two new colourways of the Air Max 97 this November. The first is a straight-up colour swap from last year’s white to black, with an oversized Swoosh in white for contrast. The second however, showcases the first use of the colour “Menta” on an Off-White x Nike collaboration.

Of course, Nike and Off-White have yet to confirm these rumoured releases, so do stay tuned throughout the year for more updates as soon as we get them.

Here’s An Official Look at the Off-White x Nike Mercurial Vapor 360

Nike and Off-White’s Virgil Abloh are set to launch a brand new collaboration, this time on the football pitch.

The Nike Mercurial Vapor 360 x Virgil Abloh will be released in extremely limited quantities on March 31, the same day PSG teen superstar Kylian Mbappé debuts the pair on the pitch.

In a recent statement by Nike, Virgil Abloh explains the design intent behind the striking shoe which appears in predominantly orange.

“For this Mercurial, I was interested in bridging the gap between foot and eye coordination,” says Abloh. “All the dots on the boot represent an optimal place to strike the ball.”

Visibly, blue dots appear on the part of the boot where most strikers would use to curl a shot. A smaller white dot is placed on the outer foot.

Of course, the boot does more than just inform its wearer on where he or she should hit the ball. In Abloh’s words, he hopes the design of the boot can serve as a message to its wearer’s opposition.

“Design is a powerful tool, as it communicates energy and a message, and it offers a unique capacity to make someone do a double take on-pitch — I feel like it would be intimidating to see this boot,” Abloh explained.

Off-White’s signature styling, including labels for “KNIT”, “LOGO” and “FAST AF” appear in various areas of the footwear.

On the medial side, the shoe also features the now iconic “Off-White for Nike” text box branding which has been a staple of the duo’s collaborations.

The boots will come in a custom box and shoe bag that share the same aesthetics as the striking cleats.

Here’s A Closer Look At The Upcoming Off-White x Nike VaporMax 2018

The latest collaboration between Nike and Virgil Abloh’s Off-White comes in the form of a new VaporMax, tweaked slightly from the pair that was launched last year in “The Ten” collection.

The most distinct change from that pair can be found on the Swoosh, which comes in black this time featuring the same exposed stitching along its edges.

The pair is expected to drop on March 30 internationally and thanks to retailer Concepts, we now have a closer look at the pair before it releases.

The on-going partnership between Nike and Abloh doesn’t seem to be halting anytime soon, with massive interest surrounding their collaborative sneakers.

It also marks a significant time for Abloh, who has just been appointed the next artistic director for Louis Vuitton’s men’s wear division.

Virgil Abloh Has Been Appointed As Artistic Director of Louis Vuitton Men’s Wear Division

Virgil Abloh, the man behind the popular streetwear label Off-White, has been appointed as the next artistic director of men’s wear at Louis Vuitton.

Abloh, who rose to fame as the creative director and partner of Kanye West, will be taking the reigns from Kim Jones, who departed the French fashion house in January.

The news confirms rumours that were swirling in the fashion grapevines for months and serves as an indication of the growing prominence of and demand for street fashion in the world of luxury.

Following the announcement, Abloh posted an image of an LV trunk on his Instagram account, which immediately followed with messages of congratulations from his fans.

It has been a monumental past couple of months for Abloh, whose collaboration with Nike last year easily taking top spot as the most sought-after sneaker collaboration of 2017.

Abloh’s first fashion show as LV’s men’s wear artistic director will take place in June during Men’s Fashion Week in Paris.

The Off-White x Air Jordan 1 “UNC” Might Be Dropping in May

A third colourway of the Air Jordan 1 from Off-White and Nike’s on-going partnership might be dropping as early as May 2018.

Donning the popular UNC colourway, based on the colours of Michael Jordan’s alma mater, the University of North Carolina, the pair has everything you’ve come to expect from an Off-White collaboration.

Featuring a deconstructed look, exposed stitching and text on its midsole saying “AIR” are just some of the many elements that define Off-White’s collaborations with Nike.

Now, thanks to intel from @py_rates, it appears that the shoe might be getting a May release date. Additional info also points towards the inclusion of orange stitching near the Swoosh branding.

Of course, no official confirmation has been made as of yet, and the image was indicated to be a mock up, so stay tuned for more details in the coming weeks.

@Nike x @off____white will be back in May with yet another @Jumpman23 Jordan 1, this time using the UNC pair as inspiration. The pair will feature orange stitching, we’d love to know what you think to our mock up. Let us know what you think to the new colour-way in the comments below. #NoMoreSecrets 🏴

This M’sian Sneaker Customiser Constructed An Off-White x adidas NMD_CS1

If you’re a sneakerhead in Malaysia, chances are you’ve come across the work of sneaker customiser Edmond Looi.

For the unacquainted, Looi has quickly earned his reputation for his “loud” reconstruction of beloved pairs of sneakers, mostly inspired by the style of Virgil Abloh. It’s no surprise given that Off-White has been Looi’s favourite label since 2016.

The architecture major began his journey in the sneaker world through reselling and soon found himself customising his first pair of adidas UltraBOOSTs in January 2017.

A post shared by edmondlooi (@edmondlooi) on

His latest work of art involves the NMD_CS1, reimagined as a collaboration piece with none other than Off-White.

The pair has all the elements one would expect from an Off-White pair, including the text “BOOST”. The pair also features Off-White’s popular diagonal stripe motif and an inspired industrial belt “PULL TAB” in place of the NMD’s usual heel pull tab.

Looi also cut up the sides of the pair and placed a zipper that stretches from the sock collar to the midsole to achieve its deconstructed aesthetic.

The pair was commissioned by 14-year-old sneakerhead Chia Leon, who gave Looi full flexibility to creative control over the design – in fact, his only brief was to make it “as loud as possible.”

For a closer look, check out the images by photographer Calvin Wong (@calvinwcyy) below and be sure to give Edmond Looi (@edmondlooi) a follow on social media to keep tabs with his latest customs.

The Off-White x Nike Air Jordan 1 “White” Gets A Release Date

Virgil Abloh’s Off-White and Nike are gearing up for another round of mass hysteria as sneaker fans anticipate the arrival of new collaboration pieces from the two labels.

The first of the lot for 2018 is set to the be an all-white version of the Air Jordan 1, a follow-up to last year’s version.

Debuting at Paris Fashion Week, the pair is set to launch on February 27, but with a catch. The drop will be exclusive to Europe, which means sneaker heads outside of the region would either have to cough up a sum at resale or wait for a possible global release later on.

The pair features a “deconstructed” look of the Air Jordan 1 in white, beige and baby blue hues. Take a closer look below.
