Leaked Images Of A Parley x adidas NMD R1 Have Surfaced

There’s no doubt that the adidas x Parley programme has paved the way for the future of sneakers, with the latter using innovative technology such as using plastic bottles and recycled materials to manufacture the UltraBOOST Parley Caged and UltraBOOST Parley Uncaged this year.

With that, we have exclusive images courtesy of user @2muchsol3 of an all new Parley x adidas NMD R1.

The sneaker appears to be constructed of blue and white Primeknit upper, with a full length Boost midsole and matching pair of EVA plugs with the words “For The Oceans” printed on.

Accompanying the sneaker is an unconventional lacing system never seen before on previous NMD models, as well as the adidas and Parley logo printed on the insole.

The adidas NMD R1 Primeknit Is Getting Camo’ed Out This October

Head’s up NMD fans,

The fan-favourite adidas NMD R1 Primeknit will be receiving a touch of military tones this October.

Sitting atop a full length BOOST midsole and white outsole, the sneaker’s “Green Knight” colourway consists of interwoven shades of green Primeknit that forms a ‘glitch camo’ pattern, with matching EVA ‘lego-blocks’ in the same colour scheme.

Black, Green, and streaks of “Shock Pink” adorn the three stripes branding on the lateral and medial sides, giving the silhouette a splash of colour amongst the forest of green.

What your thoughts on this most recent bold colourway? Let us know!

The sneaker is set to drop at select adidas retailers on October 14.

Apple Is Helping Sneakerheads Up Their Sneaker Game Through Apps

Apple has just released a featurette to showcase apps that can help sneakerheads up their sneaker game.

Entitled “The Quest for 🔥Kicks”, the clip is beautifully illustrated, showcasing some notable silhouettes such as the adidas NMD_R1, Nike’s Air Force 1, adidas YEEZY BOOST 350 v1, Vans’ Sk8-Hi, and even the self-lacing Nike Air Mag.

The video is part of the new App Store layout for the iOS 11, which now includes a “Today” section, filled with listicles to help users discover new apps that they may love.

Included in the sneaker listicle are apps such as Nike’s SNKRS, adidas Confirmed, END., Size? and Restocks.

Besides the five, Apple also included notable apps by StockX, GOAT and HBX as alternatives.

[caption id="attachment_8468" align="alignnone" width="1000"] Screengrab from the App Store, 12 Sep 2017[/caption] [caption id="attachment_8469" align="alignnone" width="1000"] Screengrab from the App Store, 12 Sep 2017[/caption]

The article also adds a brief description for each app, explaining what they’re good for.

For instance, besides the branded apps such as SNKRS and adidas Confirmed, Apple described END. as the ideal app to discover sneakers beyond one brand.

Apple also highlighted Size?’s breadth of stock while noting how users can use Restocks to get custom notifications about the brands you care about.

If you have already updated to iOS 11, you can check out the list of apps from this link.

Here’s The Unofficial Abbreviation Guide For Sneaker Noobs

We’ve already provided you with a crash course on sneaker terminology in our previous article, but now it comes to the fun part – actually buying the sneakers.

Applications such as Carousell have significantly made buying sneakers effortless, and being able to search up for any Jordan or YEEZY with just a few taps of a button has revolutionized the way we buy sneakers today. But as you scour the hundreds of ads, you hit a problem – You have no idea what it’s saying.

As such, we’ve curated a list of terms and abbreviations to help even the most confused of sneaker buyers for those ads that you simply can’t decipher.

1) WTS

verb

The most common term you’ll see on these ads is the term “WTS”, which simply means they ‘Want to Sell’ a sneaker.

“WTS Air Jordan 1 Chicago”

2) WTT

verb

“WTT” indicates that the person behind the ad “Wants to Trade”  his sneaker

“WTT Yeezy 350 Olive for Yeezy 350 Copper”

3) WTB

verb

Look out for these “WTB” listings if you’re a seller, as these people “Want to Buy” sneakers.

“WTB adidas UltraBOOST collabs”

4) BNDS/DS

adjective

To describe the condition of the sneaker, “Brand New Deadstock” or “Deadstock” indicates that the sneakers have not been worn/as good as new condition.

“Selling DS Air Max 97 Silver Bullets, pm to offer”

5) VNDS/PADS

adjective

Very Near Deadstock (“VNDS”) or Passed As Deadstock (“PADS”)  suggests that the sneakers have only been lightly worn and are close to new condition. Be wary though, as not every sneakerhead’s interpretation of “Very-Near Deadstock” is the same.

“Selling VNDS NMD PK OG, (worn twice)”

6) Factory Laced

adjective

The term “Factory laced” speaks for itself. Usually paired with the term “Deadstock”, it indicates that the sneakers are still laced in the same way that they left the factory where it was manufactured.

“WTS Yeezy V1 Pirate Black still DS factory-laced”

7) OBO

verb

“OBO” simply means “Or Best Offer”. So if you see this on a listing don’t be afraid to shoot them an offer you have in mind (just don’t be one of those lowballers!)

“WTS Air Jordan 4 KAWS $1400 OBO”

8) LC

verb

To “LC” means to “Legit Check”. With the countless of fakes out there on the market, don’t be afraid to ask the seller for more pics of the sneaker to “LC”

“WTS Zebra UK10, pm for LC pics”

9) Proxy/PO

verb

To “Proxy” or “Preorder” means that you are paying someone to purchase the sneakers on your behalf before/after a sneaker drops. But be very careful as some of these “Proxy” services require you to make a deposit of up to $200.

“Doing proxy service for the upcoming Yeezy drop”

10) TTS

adjective

As sneakers come in all sorts different materials and cuttings, the term “TTS” or “True to Size” means that the sneakers don’t run big or small, they fit exactly how they should.

“The UltraBOOST 3.0s run TTS, unlike the 1.0s where you need to go up half a size.”

adidas Takes Over Jordan To Be #2 Sneaker Brand in the US

adidas is now officially more popular than Jordan Brand as the Three Stripes overtook Jumpman in market share in the United States.

According to market research company NPD Group, adidas doubled up on its market share in the US from last year by occupying 13%.

adidas remains behind Jordan’s parent company Nike, which owns 44% of market share, although it should be noted that this market share occupied by Nike includes subsidiaries Jordan Brand and Converse.

“This is an achievement I never thought I would see in my lifetime,” tweeted NPD’s Matt Powell earlier this morning.

Although some may be skeptical about the attention surrounding the news that adidas has overtaken merely a subsidiary of Nike and not the Swoosh themselves, not many would have dared imagine that adidas could have overtaken the legendary Air Jordans in sales five years ago.

While most reports agree on the relative decline of Nike’s market share, many are unable to pin point to the factor behind adidas’ success.

Powell attributes adidas rise in sales due to the popularity of classic silhouettes such as the Stan Smith and the Superstar, the best selling sneaker of 2016. However, most sneakerheads would easily point to the “halo effect” of Kanye West and his YEEZY line propelling adidas to its hype status.

Regardless, the increased competition between the Three Stripes and Swoosh can only be good for consumers as both companies invest to innovate with adidas looking towards 4D printing and Nike developing new ways to manufacture sneaker leather with its Flyleather tech.
