It’s time to say goodbye to ‘Monday Couple’.
SBS’s Running Man has announced earlier today that Gary will be leaving the variety show after his final recording on October 31.[caption id="attachment_1707" align="alignnone" width="1024"]Image: Run M Team[/caption]
There were rumours swirling around for weeks of Gary’s plans to leave the show, with reports citing that fellow cast members and crew had tried to persuade him against his decision.
“I want to spend more time on music, and I want to study it more,” the rapper said.
“We sincerely thank Gary for putting everything into the show for [six] years, as one of the original members of ‘Running Man.’ Gary wishes to focus on his career as a musician, and we wish him the best,” the production team expressed.
Gary, also known by his real name Kang Hee-gun, is one of eight original members of the show. He spent six years on it as a fan-favourite and appeared with on-screen girlfriend Song Jihyo. They both were dubbed as ‘Monday Couple’ as the show was taped on Mondays.
He is also one-half of hip hop duo Leessang since their formation in 2002.
