As rumoured earlier this week, the upcoming boxing match between Floyd Mayweather and Conor McGregor has been set for August 26.

Both fighters confirmed the news on their social media platforms, with Mayweather posting a promotional video of the fight, captioned: “It’s official!”

The highly-anticipated bout is expected to take place at the T-Mobile Arena, despite previous reports stating that it may take place at MGM Grand.

McGregor had agreed his end of the deal weeks ago, while Mayweather took slightly longer, signing his part on June 14, the same day the fight was announced.

THE FIGHT IS ON.

While McGregor is known for his expertise in mixed martial arts, UFC President Dana White has confirmed that the fight will be contested under boxing rules.

This may work in Mayweather’s favour, who after 49 professional boxing matches has come out undefeated  with 49 victories, 26 by knockout. McGregor on the other hand has a professional record of 21-3.

McGregor however has established himself a trademark for knocking out opponents in record time, knocking out Jose Aldo in just 13 seconds for the UFC Featherweight belt.

Both the bookies and past boxing champions have Mayweather to win it, but time will tell how it’ll all play out.

The Mayweather v McGregor Boxing Match Has A Date

The highly-anticipated bout between Conor McGregor and Floyd Mayweather is all but confirmed, with Mayweather Promotions reserving the MGM Grand on August 26 for a boxing event.

The fight between two has been widely talked about in the press and social media ever since rumours began last year. According to sources, Mayweather has been keeping up with his training despite having retired, fuelling the buzz about an impending match.

Negotiations are still ongoing, but it appears that a fight announcement is just around the corner, particularly with McGregor’s already signing off his end of the agreement.

Last month, McGregor posted on Instagram a photo of his training with the caption, “Sign your end Floyd or you are just a mouth.”

Solid work today. Sign your end Floyd or you are just a mouth.
