SEGA and PUMA Are Teaming Up On Official ‘Sonic The Hedgehog’ Sneakers

Beloved video game Sonic The Hedgehog will be the latest brand from geek culture to collaborate with a sportswear maker on a pair of sneakers.

Not to be outdone by Nintendo and Nike’s upcoming collaboration, SEGA is working with PUMA on the official sneakers alongside a lineup of apparel and accessories.

Dubbed the PUMA x SEGA “RS-0 SONIC”, the shoe will be available in June 2018 and will be launched in limited quantities.

Based on the teaser video, it appears that the shoes will differ from the classic red and white pair we’ve grown accustomed to seeing on Sonic in the video games. Instead, the shoe will be largely blue on its upper with a white midsole, red outsole, and yellow and green accents.

No other details have been disclosed so far, but we expect more news to come from the two companies in the coming months.

Check out the teaser video below.

Techies and Sports Junkies Will Love The Revamped Funan Mall – Here’s Why

New Funan Mall

Singaporeans dreaded the closing of Funan DigitaLife Mall back in June as it embarked on its three-year long renovation process.

Thankfully, the payoff looks promising, with the mall looking to incorporate cutting-edge elements and features to make it truly the mall of the future.

Earlier today, developer CapitaLand announced plans for the upcoming Funan integrated development, which will appeal to techies, sports junkies and foodies alike.

Here are 7 upcoming things to look forward to in the new redeveloped Funan mall in 2019.

1) Smart Shopping

Instead of walking around with your shopping bags, a new concept in the new Funan mall will be a drive-through click-and-collect service where shoppers can pick up items when they drive out. Shoppers may also choose to have their products delivered directly to their homes as well.

2) A 4,000 square-feet urban farm

The revamped Funan mall will feature a 4,000 sq ft urban farm, allowing the public to learn more about the origins of food and to grow their own produce. There will also be a 12,000 sq ft food garden, making the area the largest in the Singapore CBD dedicated for urban farming and agriculture.

3) High-tech Food Court

Kopitiam will be introducing a high-tech food court named KOPItech which will feature tray return robots, self-ordering kiosks, robotic vacuum cleaners and food collection conveyor belts.

4) Indoor Sports Courts

Sports junkies will look forward to the multiple sports facilities in the new mall. These include a dedicated Futsal court on the sixth floor, a world class gym, a 25m swimming pool and a street basketball court.

5) 4-storey Rock-climbing Wall

The new mall will feature a 50-lane climbing facility operated by Climb Central. The highest wall of the facility extends from Funan’s Basement 2 to Level 2 at 15 metres high.

6) Indoor Cycling

Cycling enthusiasts can look forward to the indoor cycling lanes within the mall, making it Singapore’s first commercial building to allow for cycling throughout the building. Funan will also be offering full cycling amenities and end-of-trip facilities including bike shops, bike cafés, lockers and showers.

7) Multi-dimensional Cinema

One of Funan’s main tenant Golden Village will be offering the first multi- dimensional cinematic experience with state of the art cinema design for movie goers in Singapore.

8) IT Floor

Funan wouldn’t be Funan of course without the IT element that made it popular. CapitaLand will be dedicating an entire floor to feature the latest digital gadgets and technological products. The mall will also incorporate interactive elements and workshop to embrace its technological associations.

Fact vs Fiction: 7 iPhone Rumours That Are Very Likely To Be True

iPhone 7 Apple Announcement

For years, KGI Securities analyst Ming-chi Kuo has been a reliable source of Apple product rumours and he has the track record to back it up. The investment analyst produces periodic research notes for investors through intel he gathers from his contacts in Apple’s Asian supply chain.

Well it turns out Kuo has recently released one of his research notes several days prior to the launch of the new iPhone 7. While many of what Kuo has stated has been circling rumour mills for the last couple of weeks, it helps to solidify the specs and features that will very likely be true.

1) New storage tiers

Kuo’s note confirms an earlier report by The Wall Street Journal regarding the storage tiers on the upcoming iPhone 7 release. The new sets will come in either 32GB, 128GB and 256GB, replacing the current line up of 16GB, 32GB and 128GB.

2) Five colour options

The current line up of gold, rose gold and silver models will be joined by a ‘dark black’ model (which replaces the current space grey) and a new ‘piano black’ option with a  glossy finish. It is also rumoured that the piano black model will be restricted to the higher storage tiers due to barriers in high production.

3) 3GB of RAM

The iPhone 7 Plus will most likely come with 3GB of RAM. The standard iPhone 7 model will ship with 2GB of RAM.

4) Dual-lens camera

The iPhone 7 Plus will also ship with a dual-lens camera – a wide angle camera with larger pixels and a 6P lens, with the other being a telephoto camera with smaller pixels and a 5P lens. Both cameras are expected to come with 12 megapixels sensors.

5) Improved water resistance

The new iPhone 7 phones will feature IPX7 water resistance, similar to that of the Apple Watch, making the device resistant to splashes, showers and brief submergence under water up to one meter deep.

The home button is also said to be click-less to benefit water resistance. In its place, new haptic vibrations will be included to mimic the feel of a click when the button is pressed.

6) Upgraded earpiece receiver for stereo sound

The earpiece receiver – used for phone calls – will receive an audio amplifier to become a full-fledge speaker at the top of the device. This will allow for stereo sound when the phone is used in landscape orientation for watching movies, shows and playing games.

7) New A10 chip

Apple’s new A10 processor from TSMC is capable of close to 2.4 to 2.4GHz compared to the A9’s max speed of 1.85GHz. Apple is expected to clock this down however due to heat and power consumption concerns.

BONUS:

No headphone jack

As widely reported already, the new iPhone 7 will not have a headphone jack. Apple will be shipping the new devices with Lightning EarPods and a Lightning to 3.5mm jack adaptor for those who prefer to use their older earpieces or third-party ones.
