PlayStation Plus Free Games In March Include The Beloved Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered

Sony might be doing away with free PS3 and Vita games, but PlayStation Plus members need not fret as March will be an action-packed month for freebies.

Following the top-notch titles in For Honor and Hitman, which made up the free games for PS Plus members in February, Sony will be including the remastered version of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare in the month of March.

In addition to the first instalment in the Modern Warfare series, PS Plus members will also get the puzzle masterpiece that is The Witness for free.

Both games will be made available to PS Plus subscribers from March 5, which means if you have yet to claim your copy of Hitman and For Honor, now’s the time to do so.

Last month, Sony increased the cloud storage of PS Plus members from 10GB to 100GB.

Here’s An Official Look At The Air Jordan 1 “Xbox” From E3 2018

Not to be left out from Nike’s fresh drop of the PlayStation x Air Force 1 earlier this week, Microsoft has its own collaboration in the cards with an E3-exclusive Air Jordan 1 “Xbox”.

Decked out in the Xbox colours, the upcoming pair features premium suede uppers and Xbox branding on the laces and insole.

While the shoes look eye-catching already as it is, the Jordan Brand has added green glow-in-the-dark outsoles to give it an extra oomph for the night time.

Microsoft released official images of the shoe earlier today and as you can tell, they are pure heat for the feet.

If You Didn’t Already Know, PUBG Is Now Officially Available on Mobile

The official mobile version of the highly-popular PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds – or PUBG, for short – is now available on iOS and Android worldwide.

The global mobile release of the game came weeks after its initial launch in China and a recent Beta test in Canada.

While the original PC and XBOX versions were developed by South Korea’s Bluehole, the mobile version is officially licensed by China’s mega-conglomerate Tencent. Ironically, Tencent also owns 40% of Epic Games, the developer of PUBG’s competitor Fortnite.

After spending a day on the game, it’s safe to say that the mobile version is a faithful adaptation of its PC counterpart. Although graphics have been dailed down to run smoothly on handheld devices, everything else seems pretty close to the original as possible. This includes the map, weapons, game mechanics, vehicles and character stylisations.

As noted by most players on social media and Reddit, there are even certain elements from the mobile version that they hope would get ported over to the PC as well. This includes a clever levelling up system, daily rewards, in game text chat and more.

The best part of it all: the mobile version is free to play. So wait no longer, give ‘PUBG Mobile’ a search on the App Store or Play Store and download it now. Quick note to download it over wi-fi as the game is nearly 1GB in size.

Nintendo Super Retro NES Classic Edition Is Making A Return

Nintendo NES Classic will be making a comeback due to popular demand, a few months after halting production back in April.

NES first came out back in 1985 and has been one of the most influential system that forged the gaming industry.

Nintendo revolutionized the NES back in 2016 by making a miniature version of it called the” NES Classic Edition”. There were limited copies of this edition which were hard to find and sold out extremely fast.

This time around, Nintendo intends to produce more units of the classic editions, along with 30 of its classic games that made a huge impact and shaped gaming into what it is today, such as “Donkey Kong” and “Super Mario”. Gamers around the world have proven that its legacy still lives on even in this modern era where “good graphics” in a game is the main concern.

The NES Classic Edition will be making a comeback in 2018 for US$59.99, check out the video.

Destiny 2: An In-Depth Review

It has been three years since the first release of Destiny and anticipation for its sequel was inevitable given its huge hits and equally large misses.

Thankfully, much has improved from the get-go, from the story to its mechanics and graphics. In a nutshell, the experience has been stunning, albeit for a few bugs but nothing too drastic that affected the gameplay.

Developed by Bungie – the same guys behind Halo, here is our breakdown of Destiny 2 (does not contain spoilers).

[caption id="attachment_7805" align="alignnone" width="1920"] image: Wccftech[/caption]

RPG System

The game pulls away from common shooters, which was refreshing to say the least. The RPG element of Destiny 2 was impressive but there were still some grey areas when it came to skills. The Leveling system was fair, and there was an even balance with EXP gains between doing a quest and grinding on enemies.

There are several methods to levelling up, such as undertaking the main quest, taking on zone adventures, exploring public events and the general grind. One of the quickest way to level up and gain loot is to make use of the chest spawns by killing off the zone leaders, all in all the RPG element slightly resembles Tom Clancy’s The Division.

Gameplay

Certain aspects of Destiny 2 mirrors DOOM and Halo in an uncanny way. After all, it was developed by Bungie, so we can’t ignore the fact that there will be slight resemblances towards the Halo franchise. For example, the “Fallen” enemy uses weapons similar to the “Needler” in Halo where the projectiles actually chase you, and running around in the “hives” early in the game felt reminiscent of DOOM. As you progress through the game, different types of enemies will be introduced, and it gets more challenging as each enemy has a special attribute/ability.

The main enemies are the “Cabal”, which were introduced back in Destiny 1, tasked to take earth back from them. The Cabal are looking to use the travelers light to wipe off all guardians, whom the player plays as. Throughout the course of the journey, the game does begin to feel mundane and repetitive, but the repetitive cycle does provide experience gain and the loot drop is never the same.

Weapon System

Destiny 2 has already surpassed its predecessor in many ways, one of the obvious improvements is the weapon system. In Destiny 2 every player will be given three weapons (Kinetic, Energy and Power weapons) with each weapon having it’s own tiers of rarity.

Kinetic weapons

  • Kinetic weapons are the primary weapon that deals high damage to all enemies using regular bullets.

Energy weapons

  • Energy weapons have a unique element added to it such as, Solar (fire), Arc (electric) and Void (magic). The primary use of an energy weapon is to take down enemies with a shield protecting them, each shield has an Achilles heel depending on the element. Causing a shield to explode will deal damage to surrounding enemies. Energy weapons deal slightly lesser damage to regular enemies as compared to the Kinetic weapons.

Power Weapons

  • If a boss is in your way, power weapons are your go-to weapons. With the ability to deal massive damage, the only drawback for this weapon is the ammo capacity, so be sure to use it wisely and make every shot count.

Classes

You will be able to choose from three classes, Titan, Hunter and Warlock. There are no weapon restriction for classes, but each class has it’s own unique set of attributes and skills. This time around each class will have a subclass that can be unlocked. Titans are generally tanks, able to absorb the most damage among the classes, hunters deal massive damage and have better maneuverability. Warlocks are technically mages who deal a high amount of damage to enemies in an area. All the classes remains the same from Destiny 1 but having the subclasses added in provides players a completely new set of skills and experience.

Destiny 2 is a game that you have to experience firsthand to appreciate the story and its gameplay. It’s an addictive entry into the franchise and definitely worth paying to play for. Playing with a group of friends is a plus point, from doing quest to fooling around dancing and playing a minigame of football. Unfortunately, several chinks in its armour keep it from being an ultimate game of the year contender, but there are elements that will keep you coming back for more. Our score for Destiny 2 is a “7.5”.
