After 3 Years of Waiting, Sherlock Season 4 Finally Gets A Release Date

The new season of BBC’s hit show Sherlock will premiere on January 1st 2017 with star Benedict Cumberbatch returning as the titular character.
Fans have waited since early 2014 when the third season of Sherlock ended.
There was however a special earlier this year called The Abominable Bride, which was set in Victorian England, the original setting for the Sherlock Holmes books by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle.
As always, the fourth season will have three episodes, released weekly starting from January 1st. The first episode has been given the title “The Six Thatchers”.
While fans can certainly be happy for the return of Sherlock, the joy may be short-lived as Cumberbatch has implied before that this may be the final season of the show. Scheduling conflicts with Cumberbatch’s bourgeoning film career as well as his co-star Martin Freeman’s may prove to be the big stumbling block in getting more seasons off the ground.
Either way, fans should be glad that it happened rather than sad that it’s ending, and who knows? Maybe we might be surprised with the odd special or two every now and then.
[WATCH] New Doctor Strange Trailer Name Drops Avengers, Reveals Humour

Marvel Entertainment has dropped the latest and possibly final full trailer for its upcoming blockbuster Doctor Strange.
The clip expands on several scenes from past trailers while adding more interactions between Benedict Cumberbatch and Mads Mikkelsen, albeit with a tinge of humour and awkwardness.
Benedict Wong’s character is also seen name dropping The Avengers, explaining to Strange that Iron Man and gang deal with “physical threats” while sorcerers have to protect the universe from mystical threats unknown to Earth’s Mightiest Heroes.
This would also serve to explain Doctor Strange’s absence in previous Marvel films despite receiving a name drop in Captain America: The Winter Soldier.
Marvel has set the benchmark so far when it comes to using lesser known characters, particularly with Guardians of the Galaxy and Ant-Man. Prior to 2008, most would also argue that Iron Man, the character which kicked things off for the company, was relatively unknown compared to the likes of Spider-man and DC’s Superman and Batman.
Doctor Strange is expected to do well with a star-studded cast and acclaimed horror director Scott Derrickson at the helm.

Doctor Strange, which also stars Chiwetel Ejiofor, Tilda Swinton and Rachel McAdams, tells the story of Stephen Strange, a neurosurgeon who encounters the world of magic and alternate dimensions in search of a cure for his injured hands.
Reactions to the images have been largely positive, with many fans of both Marvel and Cumberbatch describing the costume and look as incredible, epic, spectacular and amazing.
Cumberbatch’s wife Sophie Hunter was also present on set.
The film is directed by Scott Derrickson and opens in theatres on November 4 this year.
