Here’s A First Look Inside Apple Marina Bay Sands

Apple’s stunning new floating store at Marina Bay Sands is set to open in Singapore on Thursday (Sep 10) at 10am local time.

The store’s facade received a fair amount of attention in recent weeks, revealing a space-ship-like dome, sitting directly on the waters of Marina Bay.

According to Apple, the sphere is a first-of-its-kind, all-glass dome structure that is fully self-supported, comprised of 114 pieces of glass with only 10 narrow vertical mullions for structural connection.

Here’s a look at the official photos from Apple before the official store opening.

As we are still coping with COVID-19 as a nation, visits to Apple Marina Bay Sands on Thursday will be by appointment only.

Travis Scott Officially Announces McDonald’s Collaboration

travis scott mcdonald's

Travis Scott has taken to Twitter to officially confirm the previous rumoured partnership with McDonald’s.

The rapper posted an image of McDonald’s fries arranged in the shape of the Cactus Jack face logo.

The partnership appears to be part of a wider campaign between McDonald’s and celebrity endorsers sharing their favourite meals from the fast food chain.

According to McDonald’s, this would mark the first time since 1992 that a celebrity’s name has been featured on the McDonald’s menu. The first and only time was done by the legend himself, Michael Jordan.

McDonalds - Travis Scott

The “Travis Scott Meal” looks to be available only in the US, consisting of a Quarter Pounder with Cheese, sizzling bacon, and crisp lettuce; medium fries with BBQ Sauce to dip, and a Sprite.

Based on a press release from McDonald’s however, there will also be an apparel line and releases in the coming weeks, which would be more accessible to those in Asia than the meal.

Update [9/9/20]: The apparel collection is now available.

Everything We Know So Far About Call of Duty Black Ops: Cold War

We’re less than a day away from the official reveal of the latest addition to the Call of Duty franchise, but that hasn’t stopped dataminers from finding out more about the game.

Alongside teasers from official sources, here is everything we know so far about the upcoming AAA title.

1. Warzone Lives On

Based on a series of videos published by Call of Duty’s official social media pages, the popular map from Modern Warfare’s Warzone looks certain to be making a return in Black Ops: Cold War.

In this teaser, the text “new contract” can be seen in the video, alluding to the contracts found in Warzone such as Bounty, Scavenger and Recon that allows players to earn in-game cash to purchase killstreaks and loadouts.

So while Modern Warfare’s developer Infinity Ward isn’t directly involved in the Treyarch-developed Cold War, players will be glad to know that support for Warzone isn’t going away anytime soon.

2. A Direct Sequel To The Original Black Ops

Call of Duty Black Ops: Cold War will be a direct sequel to the original game in the Black Ops series, according to the leaks.

In campaign mode, players are expected to “battle around the globe through iconic locales like East Berlin, Vietnam, Turkey, Soviet KGB headquarters and more.”

Memorable characters from the original Black Ops series such as Mason, Woods and Hudson will make a return in Cold War.

3. Set To Release on Nov 13

Another important detail to surface from the leaks is that the planned release date for the game will be on November 13, 2020.

The timing and date makes sense, given that it’s close to the holiday season and around the same time as the launches of the next generation of consoles.

The Multiplayer reveal is also expected to take place on September 9, giving pros and notable streamers early access to preview the mechanics of the game.

4. Cross-Gen Bundles

Speaking of next-gen consoles, Activision will be giving console players a chance to own the game on both current generation and upcoming platforms, namely the Xbox Series X and the PlayStation 5.

According to the leak, Activision will offer standard edition, cross-gen bundle and ultimate edition versions of the game.

This unfortunately means that there won’t be a free upgrade for cross-gen players, but hopefully means a discounted rate for those looking to pick up the game on PS4 and PS5 or Xbox One and Xbox Series X.

5. In-Game Event on August 27

A reveal of the game is scheduled to take place on August 26, 1.30pm ET, which is 1.30am on August 27 in Singapore and Malaysia.

The reveal will take place in-game on Warzone, so expect a Fortnite-like event to take place while playing the game.

Travis Scott x McDonald’s Collaboration Is In The Works

Global fast food giant McDonald’s is collaborating with Travis Scott as part of a celebrity-focused marketing direction, according to a report by Business Insider.

Based on a leaked memo from the chief marketing officer of McDonald’s, Travis Scott has already signed an agreement for the team up, with more celebrity partnerships in the works.

“From his impossible-to-get Nike sneaker line, to a cereal collab with General Mills that sold out in 30 seconds, to a record-setting virtual concert series inside Fortnite, Travis Scott is the definition of big in culture,” McDonald’s CMO Morgan Flatley wrote.

“Beyond this, he is a true fan of McDonald’s and our craveable, iconic food,” she added in the memo. “He will resonate and spark excitement with our youthful multicultural customers, and has a few surprises to delight our crew and ensure they are part of the excitement.”

According to the memo, it appears that official communications of the collaboration will roll out in early September, so stay tuned for more information in the coming weeks.
