NASA and Vans Team Up On A Collection That is Out of this World

With the rising prominence of Elon Musk, the reintroduction of Star Wars and the resurgence of all things retro, the obsession for space has well and truly returned to the mainstream.
Reflecting this trend, Vans is teaming up with NASA on a capsule collection spanning across sneakers and bags.
[caption id="attachment_12940" align="alignnone" width="1000"]
The most prominent piece since the news broke is the Vans Old Skool, featuring a deconstructed upper in leather, a grey denim tongue and thick, reinforced midsoles to look like an astronaut’s standard issue space shoe.
The lateral side of the pair also features NASA’s branding while a removable patch of the US flag can be found on the back of the shoe, similar to those on an astronaut’s suit.
[caption id="attachment_12937" align="alignnone" width="1000"]
While the Vans Old Skool will drop in two colours, one in white and another in orange, the collection will also include the Sk8-Hi 46 MTE DX, Sk8-Hi MTE and Vans Classic Slip-On silhouettes.
Accessories include a Snag Plus Backpack in Space White alongside a Grind Skate Duffel in Space Orange.

Here’s Our Best Look Yet at Pharrell’s Upcoming adidas NMD “Afro Hu”

Pharrell Williams and adidas are a winning combination and the duo are set to release a brand new NMD Hu collaboration in the Fall.
A follow-up to the highly successful “Powder Dye” collection in celebration of India’s Holi Festival, the “Afro Hu” pays tribute to the African continent, the home of human civilisation.
The three-piece collection will feature Afro-centric design cues and is particularly evident in its colour combinations. Close-up images of one of the three surfaced online in low-key fashion back in February, giving us a taste of what’s the come in the second half of the year.
[caption id="attachment_12920" align="alignnone" width="1000"]

From the shots, its clear that tribal motifs play a huge part of the aesthetics, alongside the clever use of African beads on the heel tab.
The shoe’s collar also features coloured dots to mimic the look of ankle bead bracelets from afar, adding on to the African theme.
In addition to this up-close images, photos from @presentedby gives us a decent side profile of the two remaining pairs.

Air Jordan 1 Satin “Shattered Backboard” To Drop on May 5

Set to join the ranks of resell royalty, the Air Jordan 1 Satin “Shattered Backboard” will be quite the drop for Jordan fans and resale opportunists alike.
On par with beloved classic colourways, the “Shattered Backboard” edition of the Air Jordan 1 took the sneaker world by storm in 2015, with resell prices hovering around the S$900-S$1,000 mark in recent months.
The added Satin makeover of the pair is likely to fetch even more, given how the Satin Royals performed when it was released last year.
Regardless, the upcoming Air Jordan 1 Satin “Shattered Backboard” is a sight to behold, with its embroidered Swoosh, sewn on Air Jordan logo on the ankle, high-quality tumbled leather throughout its upper and the satin finish on the toe box.
This upcoming pair, which is set for a May 5 release, also features a translucent orange outsole at the bottom.
There is a twist to the tale, of course, as the pair will be a women’s exclusive – that’s right, women’s sizing. Don’t fret if you’re a guy though, as sizes run all the way to a women’s 12, which equates to a men’s 10.5.

Here’s An Official Look At The Supreme x RIMOWA Collaboration

A day after dropping a teaser video, Supreme has officially unveiled its upcoming collaboration with luxury luggage label RIMOWA.
The reveal gives Supreme fans a closer look at the collection, which looks fairly similar to earlier mock-ups by insider outlets.
Contrary to rumours, the collection will come in two sizes instead of three and will feature two different colour schemes – one in striking Supreme red, and another in black.
Both colour options will feature Supreme’s branding throughout the exterior of the aluminium luggage, while the insides will include a Supreme-branded elastic divider to keep all your heat well packed.
The carry-on 45-litre option will cost US$1,600 while the larger 82-litre one will retail for US$1,800.
The Supreme x RIMOWA luggage collection will be available online and in-store in Brooklyn, New York, LA, London and Paris on April 12, and in Japan on April 14.

Nike’s Self-Lacing HyperAdapt 1.0 To Drop in Singapore in Three Colourways on April 12

Nike Singapore has announced that its groundbreaking self-lacing sneaker, the Nike HyperAdapt 1.0, will be launching in the Lion City on April 12, 2018.
The silhouette will be exclusively available in-store at NikeLab Dover Street Market Singapore and will arrive in three colourways – olive flak/black-orange, black/white and white/pure platinum.
The sneaker has been one of the most coveted pairs in recent times since its debut in 2016 and will finally be available at retail in Asia for the very first time.
To celebrate the shoe’s arrival in Southeast Asia, Nike will be holding trial sessions for customers from 12-14 April at Dover Street Market Singapore from 11am-8pm.
For the unacquainted, the sneaker features Nike’s groundbreaking underfoot-lacing mechanism where the shoe’s laces simply tighten and loosen based on pressure or with a touch of a button. The name HyperAdapt comes from the shoe’s ability to adapt the tightness of the shoe based on an athlete’s needs at any given moment.
The technology was made possible when Nike pursued to create a real-life version of the once-fictional self-lacing Nike Mag from Back To The Future II.
“When you step in, your heel will hit a sensor and the system will automatically tighten,” explained Nike’s Senior Innovator Tiffany Beers. “Then there are two buttons on the side to tighten and loosen. You can adjust it until it’s perfect.”
The Nike HyperAdapt 1.0 will retail for S$999. For a closer look at all three colourways, check them out below.
Introducing TNTCO, Your New Favourite Asian Streetwear Label

The last couple of years has seen a huge uptake in street fashion here in Singapore as more individuals become interested in streetwear culture.
However, the trend has mainly been to look towards international brands for the latest drops, whether it’s Supreme or BAPE or Off-White, while overlooking Asian and, most importantly, Southeast Asian labels that are producing amazing products and looks in our own backyards.
A label that has been making waves in its own hometown of Malaysia is TNTCO and we have a hunch it’s only a matter of time before they start making waves all over the region.
[caption id="attachment_12697" align="alignnone" width="719"]

Founded in 2013 by Deckson and JR, the duo started the label as a way to express their creativity, having been passionate streetwear fans from a young age.
Their designs focus on simplicity with an eye for detailing and are mostly inspired by daily life or a commentary about wider society. Each piece has a meaning or message which the label uses as a vessel to call out certain trends or phenomenon in the world. As co-founder JR puts it, “it’s almost like making a meme, but in a different kind of form.”
[caption id="attachment_12698" align="alignnone" width="1000"]
That direction has certainly been a winning formula for the brand thus far. In fact, the re-release of the label’s best selling item, the Marble Tee V1, was sold out in one day.
[caption id="attachment_12704" align="alignnone" width="1000"]
While the industry remains as competitive as ever, the founders are optimistic about what the future holds, particularly with the growth of consumers over the past years.
“There are more people acknowledging streetwear now, and more consumers in terms of the market,” said JR. “It will only get better, definitely more consumers from now, and it will take over more mainstream labels.”
The duo and their company Hamwiches Fashion Group are also the team behind PLUG (The PLAYBOOK Collective. For a closer look at what they have in store, check out their Instagram page at

Air Jordan 3 “White Cement” To Drop in S’pore and M’sia on April 10

If you missed out on the release of the Air Jordan 3 “White Cement” earlier this year, you’re in luck.
The Southeast Asian release of the shoe will officially take place at 9am on Tuesday (April 10) via Nike.com, so be sure to camp on the site early if you’re hoping to secure a pair.
The return of the “White Cement” hit the global stores earlier this year on Valentine’s Day to commemorate the 30th anniversary of when Michael Jordan dunked from the free throw line at the 1988 Slam Dunk Contest.
[caption id="attachment_12683" align="alignnone" width="1000"]
That iconic moment will always live through the silhouette as a mark in Jordan’s legacy as a basketball legend.
To celebrate that moment further, the outsole of the left-side contains a red stripe in the exact width of the NBA free-throw line, a tribute to the foot Jordan used to launch his epic jump.
