SEGA and PUMA Are Teaming Up On Official ‘Sonic The Hedgehog’ Sneakers

Beloved video game Sonic The Hedgehog will be the latest brand from geek culture to collaborate with a sportswear maker on a pair of sneakers.
Not to be outdone by Nintendo and Nike’s upcoming collaboration, SEGA is working with PUMA on the official sneakers alongside a lineup of apparel and accessories.
Dubbed the PUMA x SEGA “RS-0 SONIC”, the shoe will be available in June 2018 and will be launched in limited quantities.
Based on the teaser video, it appears that the shoes will differ from the classic red and white pair we’ve grown accustomed to seeing on Sonic in the video games. Instead, the shoe will be largely blue on its upper with a white midsole, red outsole, and yellow and green accents.
No other details have been disclosed so far, but we expect more news to come from the two companies in the coming months.

Critics Are Calling ‘Black Panther’ Marvel’s Best Film To Date, Out in Singapore on Feb 13

Marvel Studios’ upcoming blockbuster has maintained the company’s long-standing run of producing ‘Fresh’ films based on the Rotten Tomatoes ‘Tomatometer’.
Each of the studios’ 18 films in the past 10 years has gotten a ‘Fresh’ rating, with 16 of them achieving the coveted ‘Certified Fresh’ certification.
A 98% rating is a huge achievement for any motion picture and rightly so for this one, which many critics have calling it the best entry in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
[caption id="attachment_11645" align="alignnone" width="1024"]
At the forefront of its success is the film’s cultural and historical significance in showcasing a cast almost entirely made up of actors of African descent, and the portrayal of strong women warriors.
Its villain, portrayed by the talented Michale B. Jordan (Creed), has also earned praise amongst reviewers, solving Marvel Studios’ recurring issue of shallow villains with the exception of Loki.
The movie releases in Singapore on February 13, with advance ticket sales already available at Golden Village and Shaw.
Sony Releases ‘Venom’ Poster and Teases Potential Trailer Tomorrow

While Spider-Man is happily fighting crime alongside The Avengers in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Sony Pictures is set to release a Venom movie later this year in a separate universe.
Sony, which still owns the rights to producing movies surrounding the wall-crawler and his supporting characters, famously agreed to share Spidey on the big screen with Marvel Studios, resulting in the successful Spider-Man: Homecoming film last year.
Venom, which stars British heartthrob Tom Hardy as the titular character, recently wrapped up production and it looks like fans will finally get a first glimpse at the film very soon.
The official Instagram page for the movie released a poster with the caption “Tomorrow”, suggesting that a trailer may very well drop in the coming hours.
Venom releases in theatres on October 5.
If Dragon Ball Z and Nike Had A Collaboration, This Is Probably What It’ll Look Like

While Dragon Ball Z fans eagerly await the arrival of the adidas x Dragon Ball Z collection, designer sneakerhead Matthew Walsh (@walshdesign) wasn’t entirely convinced and decided to reimagine the collection with Nike silhouettes.
Nike’s classic and newer silhouettes play their part here, with Walsh using some key models such as the Air Max 1, Air Max 90, Air Max 97, VaporMax Laceless, Roshe Run and even the latest Epic React.
For Goku, Walsh decked out the Air Max 1 in the character’s classic colours of orange and blue, with a good balance of colour and contrast throughout.
While Walsh included most of the characters from the adidas drop, he also included other favourites such as Bulma, Master Rosli and Cooler.
For a closer look, check out some of the designs below and head over to Walsh’s Instagram page to see them all.
Apple To Launch New iPhone X on September 12 – Here’s What To Expect

Apple’s product launches, particularly for its iPhone, have become a yearly affair that many look forward to – especially those whose telco contracts are coming to an end.
As expected, Apple usually makes a keynote in September to launch a brand new iPhone and this year is no exception.
Rumours surrounding the latest device have been aplenty and the most important point to note is that more than one is expected to be announced.
1) Three Devices To Be Unveiled
A total of three iPhones are set to be unveiled this Tuesday, two of which will be natural progressions from the current slate of devices, and a third to commemorate the 10th year anniversary since the launch of the first iPhone.
2) Leaks Reveal Their Exact Names
According to an iOS 11 GM leak, the two devices expected to launch will be called the iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus. These devices are expected to be a natural evolution from the current iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus lineup and will look fairly similar bar several new upgrades.
The main event however is expected to be surrounding a third device, dubbed the iPhone X, which will mark a radical shift from the current lineup of iPhones. This device will look drastically different from what we’ve seen before.
3) The iPhone X Skips Thumbprints For Facial Recognition
Now I know what you’re thinking, how accurate could facial recognition be. And won’t someone be able to unlock my phone by using a photo of myself?
Based on reliable sources, it appears that the new iPhone X will be using 3D facial recognition, which uses infrared to detect faces as opposed to identifying via imagery alone. Not only does this mean that photos won’t work, it also means that the system will be accurate in both day and night, even when lighting is low.
4) No Home Button For The iPhone X
A part of that radical shift from thumbprints to facial recognition has to do with the lack of a Home button on the iPhone X.
Apple had begun doing away with the button since the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus, when it replaced a physical button for a haptic one instead, which mimicked the sensation of pressing a button with vibrations.

5) Wireless Charging
The upcoming slate of iPhones are expected to come with inductive wireless charging capabilities, utilising a state-of-the-art glass body to do so.
It’s unclear as to whether the feature will be included in all three devices or only on the iPhone X, but sources have stated that it may not be available out of the box and will be activated later in the year.
6) Three Colours To Choose From
Besides the usual staple of black or silver, Apple is adding a dash of colour as an option for the iPhone X in the form of “Blush Gold”, which to the naked eye looks more like tan or brown.
Of course, these images are of dummy models, so the final product may differ, but as preview, do check them out below.

7) Say Hello To Animoji
If you’re wondering what an Animoji is, it’s exactly what it sounds like – an animated emoji. According to information in the iOS 11 GM firmware, the iPhone X will use its new facial scanning hardware to create animated emojis based on its user’s facial expressions.
[caption id="" align="aligncenter" width="480"]
According to Apple, an Animoji is a “custom animated messages that use your voice and reflect your facial expressions.”

All in all, we’re pretty excited to see what’s to come at the keynote on September 12. For a closer look at dummy model of the upcoming iPhone X, check out the video below.
Thanos Actor Josh Brolin To Star As Cable in Deadpool 2

The sequel to 2016’s R-rated hit Deadpool has found its Cable, and it’s none other than Thanos himself, Josh Brolin.
The Academy Award-nominated actor will now have two Marvel Comics characters on his resume, signing on with Fox for a total of four films.
In the comics, Cable is the son of Cyclops, and has telepathic and telekinetic powers. Having been transported into the future as a infant, Cable returns to the present as an adult, hence the odd age difference between him and his father.

The Best Gift For Comic Book Geeks This Christmas Will Set You Back US$360,000
Ever since Iron Man opened in theatres in 2008, the world became fascinated with his suit but knew that while it looked remarkably realistic on the silver screen, it was nothing more than CGI magic.
Very few real-life replicas have come close to imitating and detailing the intricate elements towards Iron Man’s suit, until now.
Chinese company The Toys Asia has come up with a life-size Iron Man suit that moves, animates and transitions like it does in the movie.
Using 46 motors to power the 567 parts of the suit, this Stark Tech armour can be completely opened using a remote control, revealing the extremely detailed design components within itself.
While owners of the suit can’t exactly step inside due to the motors, it’s probably the most advanced version that we have in store.
The suit will set you back US$360,000, which comes with its own display stand to match that Stormtrooper suit in the bedroom. Production is also limited to just 50, so it’s safe to say the suit will be a worthy investment for the future.
