Celebrating the 25th anniversary of the launch of the Air Jordan 11, the Jordan Brand will be launching the Air Jordan 11 “Adapt”, equipped with Nike’s self-tightening technology.

Inspired by the fictional self-lacing Nike Mag from Back To The Future, Nike introduced the technology for real in 2016 and has since been incorporated in a range of products including the Adapt BB and HyperAdapt.

The fit of the Air Jordan 11 “Adapt” can be adjusted on a dedicated app, which can also be used to customise the colour and light scheme of the shoe.

The shoe will also come with a charging pad and plug, making the experience of powering them up as seamless as possible.

While the Jordan 11 may seem like an odd silhouette to take on the Adapt technology, there is some significance to its history. Legendary designer Tinker Hatfield originally intended for the AJ11 to be a laceless shoe, so the launch of the Adapt AJ11 is silhouette coming full circle.

The shoe is expected to launch on December 30, 2020.
