Following the On Air sneaker design contest which concluded last May, Nike has finally released the six winning designs as a full sneaker collection.

With nearly a year since the winners had been announced, sneakerheads have been gearing up to get their hands on the designs.

Arriving on April 13 worldwide including Singapore and Malaysia, each pair represents the six sneaker culture powerhouse cities of New York, Paris, London, Tokyo, Seoul and Shanghai.

They include the Nike Air Max 98 “La Mezcla” (NYC), Air Max 97 “London Summer of Love”, VaporMax Plus “Paris Work In Progress”, Air Max 1 “Tokyo Maze”, Nike Max 97 “Neon Seoul” and the Air Max 97 “Shanghai Kaleidoscope”.

For the unacquainted, here are the six winning designs from the Nike On Air Collection:

1) Air Max 98 by Gabrielle Serrana “On Air: NYC”

The Air Max 98 “La Mezcle”, designed by Gabrielle Serrano, puts racial diversity in the spotlight, particularly in its representation of New York City. The uppers take on the diverse complexions of New Yorkers, highlight what makes this city special: its people.

2) Air Max 97 by Jasmine Lasode “On Air: London”

Jasmine Lasode’s Air Max 97 “London Summer of Love” celebrates love and summer of the English city with a personal account of a first date on Primrose Hill as her inspiration.

3) Air VaporMax Plus by Lou Matheron “On Air: Paris”

A Parisian courthouse that was under-construction was the inspiration behind the Air VaporMax Plus “Paris Works In Progress” by Lou Matheron.

4) Air Max 1 by Yuta Takuman “On Air: Tokyo”

Moving on to the Asian designs, Yuta Takuman’s Air Max 1 “Tokyo Maze” pays tribute to the urban labyrinth that is the Tokyo subway lines.

5) Air Max 97 by Gwang Shin “On Air: Seoul”

Seoul’s vibrant neon lights in its shopping districts are prominent on the Air Max 97 “Neon Seoul”, designed by Gwang Shin.

Lastly, the floating clouds of Shanghai’s skies are beautifully forms on the uppers of the Air Max 97 “Shanghai Kaleidoscope” by Cash Ru.

The Nike On Air Collection 2019 will be available on Nike.com from April 13, 9am (local time).
