Converse has teamed up with one of the world’s top sneaker retailers Sneakersnstuff on a limited-edition capsule collection for the One Star silhouette.

The newly reintroduced sneaker silhouette has been on the up in recent months, particularly with the popular GOLF le FLUER* collaboration with Tyler, The Creator last year.

This time, Converse and SNS are taking inspiration from the 60s by introducing a bold twist on ERDL, a camo print developed by the US Army Engineer Research and Development Laboratory five decades ago.

The camo patterns however will appear more than just print, as the collaboration features a clever play of patchwork using leather and suede to create texture.

The duo’s branding can be found on the in-soles while SNS’s logo is debossed on the heel tape. The sneaker also features goat leather lining, vintage cotton laces, co-branded sock liners and the silhouette’s iconic singular star in Nappa leather.

“Camo has always played an important role in fashion and streetwear,” said Erik Fagerlind co-founder of Sneakersnstuff.

“We wanted to elevate the print by stitching leather together in a slow, unnatural process. We do not believe in taking shortcuts. This is not fast fashion. The collection is thorough, genuine and displays a high level of craftsmanship.”

The “Canteen” colourway of the collaboration will be available in Singapore via Dover Street Market Singapore on April 12.
