Luxury sneakers have always had a mainstay in the market, with labels like Gucci and Balenciaga taking top spots when it comes to leather-bound sports footwear. While these sneakers look great, they do come at a premium, with prices often starting at S$500 for a standard general model.
Enter Oliver Cabell, a US-based startup that recently raised US$1.2 million to move into the footwear industry, making their own pairs of high-end sneakers. Promising to release one pair a week, Oliver Cabell has so far kept to its word, and the latest lineup looks too good to pass up.
Taking on the classic silhouette that is reminiscent of the adidas Stan Smith and the low-cut Converse Chuck Taylor, Oliver Cabell’s Erving is the startup’s take on the silhouette but utilises Tuscan leather and calfskin lining for its luxe aesthetic.
That’s not all. The outsoles are made from Italian 70 Shore rubber and each pair is hand-stitched in Spain.
The white colourway drops on March 6 with a retail price of US$185, while the black variant releases a week later on March 13.
