Sportswear makers FILA and The Pokémon Company are teaming up on a brand new sneaker collaboration this month.
In fact, the collection is set to release in South Korea on February 9, with a launch event scheduled the day after.
The collaboration consists of six pairs of FILA’s Classic Kicks B silhouette, all of which sport both FILA and Pokémon’s branding throughout. In particular, a Poké Ball icon is embroidered on the tongue of each of the pairs.
The sneakers will also be dedicated to popular Pokémon such as Pikachu, Bulbasaur, Squirtle, Jigglypuff and Charmander, with the character images featured on the in-sole of the shoes.
Each pair will also come in a cylindrical shoe box designed after the Poké Ball. Although this is huge news for Pokémon-loving sneakerheads, it’s unclear as to whether the collaboration will be available globally eventually.
In other news, PUMA is collaborating with Hello Kitty on a capsule collection this month as well, set to launch on February 8, 2018.
Dragon Ball Z will also be immortalised on sneakers with its upcoming team up with adidas later this year.
