For those of you who have been keeping up-to-date on the latest silhouettes, the Air Max 270 may already be ‘old news’. However, for many casual sneakerheads who catch up on the latest trends every now and then, you might be wondering what this new model is all about.
Fret not, as we’re about to give you the low-down on everything you need to know about Nike’s latest entry into the Air Max lineup.
In conjunction with Air Max Day 2018, Nike debuted the Air Max 270 in early February, with more colourways set to drop in March.
Inspired by the Air units of two iconic – and absolutely underrated – Air Max silhouettes, the 180 and 93, the Air Max 270 is an amalgamation of honouring the past and integrating the evolved purposes of sneakers in this generation.
While sneakers were originally intended for sports and athletics, be it Jordan for basketball or Cortez for running, most of us now purchase kicks for the lifestyle purposes. The Air Max 270 caters specifically for this, featuring the first Air Unit engineered predominantly with lifestyle in mind.
This Air Unit is also the tallest Max Air Heel unit ever, measuring at 32mm, making it the standout feature of the silhouette.
Designed for all-day wear and blending comfort, style and heritage of the Air Max brand, the silhouette is a no-brainer for sneakerheads in the market for a solid pair of beaters.
If you’re wondering how to get your hands on a pair, several colourways of the Air Max 270 are already available on Nike.com, including the “Black Volt”, which features a striking lime green Air unit.
New colourways, including two retro-inspired ones, are set to arrive in March as Air Max Day (March 26) draws closer.
Accompanying them is another new product line of Air Force 270 kicks, which features a higher cut, inspired by the Nike’s Air Force series. The “Safari” colourway of the Air Force 270 is also available on Nike.com, with additional colourways arriving soon.
