Balenciaga has taken the number 1 spot on Business of Fashion and Lyst’s latest ranking of the hottest brands in fashion for Q3 in 2017.
The index tracks 4.5 million data points per hour from over 65 million annual consumers, five million products and 12,000 brands.
Balenciaga took over Gucci’s spot on top to come in first, following a number 3 spot in Q2.
The biggest headline however has to be in the form of Virgil Abloh’s Off-White, which climbed 31 spots to become the third hottest fashion brand in the world for Q3.
Kanye West’s YEEZY brand came in third last quarter but was knocked off a Top 10 spot this time around.
BoF attributed Off-White’s success to its alignment with millennial fashion trends and represents a growing number of labels which have elevated streetwear in the luxury scene through high-end production and brand positioning.
The label has had a string of successful drops and collaborations but its most notable came in the form of its team up with Nike for “The Ten” collection.
Other notable labels to make it to the Top 10 of the Hottest Brands in Fashion is Stone Island and Raf Simmons, which came in 8 and 10 respectively.
