The sneaker game might be dominated by the big boys like adidas and Nike, but it hasn’t stopped up-and-coming startups from entering the game.

Started by French entrepreneur Thibault Boullenger, Lenger is a new sneaker startup based in Paris that aims to build minimalistic sneakers from premium materials at a fair price.

Handcrafted in Portugal, the full grain leather is sourced from Italy and its design is inspired by Scandinavian fashion, making it truly European from start to finish.

The kicks come in five monochromatic colours: Pink, White, Black, Grey and Olive.

According to Lenger, if it used the traditional method of selling shoes via retailers, its full retail price would be in the region of US$350, comparable to many luxury sneakers in the market.

However, by cutting out the middle-man, optimise logistics and cut retailer margins, Lenger’s sneakers are priced at US$120, with free shipping worldwide.

With the Kickstarter campaign closing at the end of June, Lenger hopes to begin production in July and roll out shipment by October.
