It’s almost surprising that this feature wasn’t ready from the get-go, but it appears that Geostickers – stickers unique to a particular location – have now made it to Instagram Stories.

The move is a natural progression for the app, which has been on the onslaught in taking on Snapchat. It is one of three Facebook-owned apps that have begun imitating Snapchat’s popular features such as stories and editable images.

The first cities that will get to try out the feature are New York and Jakarta, but all users should be able to receive the feature in the latest Instagram update.

Geofilters were launched by Snapchat back in 2014 and introduced movable Geostickers last year.

Instagram’s cloning manouver on Snapchat has paid dividends, surpassing the latter’s daily active users.

At this rate, it’s only a matter of time before Instagram adds filters that can make you look like a dog.
